At first look, Suunto X-Lander Wrist-Top Computer Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, and Chronograph Watch may seem big. I doubted buying this at first for it may look much of a clock than a watch and seem heavy on my slender arm but you will be surprised, after trying it on, it is lightweight even though it is in an aluminum casing and it was not that big at all for a watch. It gives a solid feel. The watch was not purely casing since the face, in glass, is as big as its casing. This enables me to read clearer the time, temperature and its altimeter and barometer functions. Yes, there are altimeter and barometer functions and they work exactly right. When one asks for the time, I would also include weather predictions with the help of the barometer, cool right? The manual that comes with the package is user friendly making Suunto X-Lander Wrist-Top Computer Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, and Chronograph Watch easy to calibrate. The temperature is accurate as well but I guess it needs to be removed from your arm so that it will not have a hard time reading between your body’s temperature and the temperature where you are actually located.  

Like any other watches, it also has a stopwatch but what is surprising is that it has also a compass! It is digital, precise and you can never be lost with it. But if you find the compass unnecessary, it can be turned off and save the energy of the battery. If ever the battery wears out, it can be replaced. Suunto offers a kit which has a battery replacement. The alarms are loud enough to give you a buzz.

The Suunto X-Lander Wrist-Top Computer Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, and Chronograph Watch is available in three styles: traditional positive face in polyurethane strap, black negative face in leather strap and the most recent addition is the military edition which has black negative face in rubber strap. The last one is definitely the best among the three especially for outdoor usage. If you have the negative face, it may take awhile for you to get you used reading the watch. I am not saying it is hard to read, it is just that if you always have a traditional positive face, it may take some time before you get used to a reverse display face. The backlight of the watch is not that good in illumination but it does not stop me for giving Suunto X Lander a five star rating for its big awesome features.
